Ever heard the term Skinimalism?
It’s a rather new term that has risen to popularity over the past year however, it’s something that Cinch Skin has been living and breathing since its inception. ‘Skinimalism’ quite simply, refers to reducing your skincare and re-defining your make-up routine to show appreciation for your natural self - hello natural glow! Practising Skinimalism should result in less products jammed into your bathroom cupboard, less waste and environmental impact, and more time for the important things in your life (like Netflix and chocolate). I would even suggest that Skinimalism is an extension of the Marie Kondo method, which encourages discarding of items that speak only to your heart. In my own opinion, using thick foundation to cover my 'flaws' and hide my true self does not speak to my heart.
As a millennial, I’m glued to my computer, phone and essentially, any digital platform I can get my hands on… it’s work, it’s social, it’s keeping in contact with remotely located family. In a time where the global pandemic has completely changed personal connections and working environments, it can be tricky to switch off and find time for yourself. For me, time is exceedingly more difficult to come by, and any extra sleep I can snatch up is greatly appreciated. This is where Skinimalism comes in. Practising Skinimalism has meant re-determining my routine by foregoing (or at least, minimising) make-up and re-defining my bathroom routine. It means an extra half hour of sleep every day and a few extra dollars in my wallet – it seriously makes a difference.
Cinch created the perfect companion for Skinimalism, before Skinimalism was even a thing! Since the beginning, Cinch has been focused on 2 step skincare for time-poor women who struggle with overwhelming, time consuming, complicated 10 step skincare. I may be in my twenties, but I will never pretend to understand skincare and all the nitty gritty details that come with it. Active ingredients, ingredients that are NOT to be used together, pharmacy skincare vs beauty outlets… it’s a nightmare! Any brand that simplifies skincare can take my money! When Renee Moore, founder of Cinch, unleashed her innovative products onto the world after she gave birth to her first son, she too was tired, lacking time and had lost her confidence. As someone who had worked in senior positions within global beauty corporations, she wanted to simplify her skin routine, but didn’t want to compromise on any of the benefits. Cinch was her answer to that: an uncomplicated two-step routine with maximum results. Great skin made accessible to everyone.
So, what makes Cinch special?
Cinch is unlike skincare as you know it. Cinch rebels against standard beauty industry messages which encourage us to shop, shop, shop! Cinch formulated their multi-benefit products with the aim to help women around the world regain confidence, and from personal experience, the products have done just that. Each product was designed to simplify skincare routines by replacing 10 products with just 2 without compromising on all the juicy benefits. The products are packed full of active ingredients such as brightening Superox-C™, Hyaluronate, exfoliating pineapple and paw paw enzymes, lactic acid and the list goes on. The instant glow you experience after using the products is completely addictive. Trust me on this one - Sleep + Glow has seriously changed my skin! After only a few months since discovering Cinch, my make-up use has dropped substantially. I’m embracing my pores, smile lines and even the odd hormonal break out because hey, we’re only human! I spend less dollars on make-up and produce less waste, and my skin is thanking me for it!
Whilst I do love make-up, there is a time and a place for the craft and succumbing to the ‘every day’ use of heavy make-up is not something I want to practice. Testing Skinimalism accompanied by Cinch’s multi-benefit products has helped increase my confidence and greatly impacted my lifestyle for the better… if you’re thinking about simplifying and reducing your bathroom time, Cinch is worth a try!
